GPL Challenge 2022
On September 18th, 2022, we hosted the 3rd annual GPL Challenge virtually. The event will include a 2 hour competition session in the morning divided into Novice and Advanced divisions. Teams of up to 3 middle/high school students identifying as female or non-binary are invited to participate! In the afternoon, there will be a keynote speech and a panel discussion given by academic and industrial female leaders whose backgrounds align with this year's theme: computer science in entertainment. By hosting this competition, we hope to improve gender balance and provide female and non-binary students the opportunity to solve algorithmic programming problems in a supportive environment for both beginning and experienced programmers. Through the keynote speech and panel discussion, we hope to provide participants with insight into the current state of the STEM field from a female perspective.
Registration
The contest is open to all middle and high school students identifying as female or non-binary. The speaker series and panel session are open to everyone. Registration will officially close on Saturday, September 12, 2021 or earlier when the maximum capacity is reached. Attendees for speaker sessions only are also welcome.
